Undercover police officers disguised as delivery couriers arrested two drug dealers in Tangerang on Wednesday, July 15. The operation yielded more than three kilograms of marijuana shipped from North Sumatra.

According to Unit 4 Subdirectorate 2 Officer AKP Budi Purwanto from the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, the operation began after local residents reported a suspicious package sent via a courier service from North Sumatra to an address in Tangerang.
Police adopted an undercover strategy to intercept the shipment. Officers dressed as delivery workers handed the package directly to the suspect identified as AS, aged 30, and arrested him immediately on the spot.
Interrogations led the police to a second suspect. AS admitted he acted on the orders of an accomplice identified as MM, aged 32. Based on this information, the team moved quickly to apprehend MM at a different location on the same day.
Authorities recovered a cardboard box containing three wrapped parcels of marijuana. The parcels weighed 1,020 grams, 1,007 grams, and 1,039 grams, bringing the total gross weight to 3,066 grams.
Police also seized two mobile phones, a digital scale, and empty plastic clips used for packaging drugs. Both suspects and the evidence were taken to the police headquarters for further investigation.
