Villa Face UEFA Dilemma Over Chelsea Trio After Garnacho Deal

Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on an initial loan with a conditional obligation to buy. Unai Emery green-lit the move to bring the 22-year-old Argentinian to Villa Park, with Chelsea expected to receive close to their £43 million valuation once the purchase clause is triggered.

According to reports, the transfer comes shortly after Chelsea completed the record £117 million signing of Morgan Rogers from Villa. Under transfer regulations, transactions between two clubs within a 45-day period are defined as a swap deal. UEFA scrutinises such arrangements to ensure transfer values are not artificially inflated.

Based on reporting by The Athletic, financial regulators will assess whether Garnacho's agreement constitutes a swap. If so, Villa may be required to reduce the recorded profit from the Rogers sale. This regulatory scrutiny could force the West Midlands club to reconsider any further transfer business with Chelsea this summer.

Despite the financial dilemma, Villa's interest in Stamford Bridge personnel has not ceased. According to TEAMtalk, the club is monitoring three unwanted Chelsea players: defenders Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi, along with striker Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson scored 11 goals while on loan at Bayern Munich last season and is reportedly open to reuniting with Emery, his former manager at Villarreal. Meanwhile, Disasi and Badiashile remain surplus to requirements in London after struggling for consistent regular playing time.
