The street was hot and the police were busy. In the city of Bekasi, the authorities moved against the thieves and the men of violence. According to the city police command, the two-week crackdown named Operasi Berantas Jaya 2026 brought swift results.

"We have solved 77 cases. We have secured 69 perpetrators," said Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, the chief of Polres Metro Bekasi Kota, on Friday.
The operation ran from July 4 to July 18. The men who were caught were not all new to the cells. Among the dozens arrested by the Satreskrim investigators, eighteen had served time in prison before.
The police targeted violent robberies, burglaries, vehicle thefts, and fraud. They took the tools of the trade from the suspects. They seized knives, air guns, mobile phones, and the iron master keys used to break ignition locks.
Based on the official inventory, the police recovered twenty-three motorcycles and two automobiles. They also displayed fifteen master keys and three air guns used to threaten citizens in the night.
The law will have its say. The suspects face charges under Articles 479, 477, 492, and 486 of Law Number 1 of 2023. The law is clear and the penalties are heavy.
The police chief said his men would keep the peace in Bekasi. They returned the stolen motorcycles to the owners who had lost them. The people were glad to have their property back.
"I thank the police and the Pondok Gede precinct," one resident said. "They moved fast on my report and my vehicle is home again."
