The net widened on Wednesday. Police investigators extended their search for evidence of corruption beyond the capital city, pushing into the neighboring province of West Java. The widening dragnet targets deep financial misconduct involving state entities including PLN, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel.

According to Jakarta Metro Police Spokesperson Kombes Budi Hermanto, the operation has grown from its initial focus in South Jakarta. "There are several developments returning to the jurisdiction of West Java," Budi Hermanto said during an operation in Cipete. He noted that teams are now moving toward the Bogor area after striking at least eight locations across the capital.

The raids in South Jakarta hit several high-profile commercial sectors. Investigators searched four to five offices and establishments in Kuningan, Sudirman, and Pacific Place. Earlier in the day, the police searched De'Clan cafe and a local money changer in Cipete, looking for assets tied to briberies and illegal transactions.

Based on details provided by Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Victor Dean Mackbon, the investigation probes dark dealings by state officials. One core case involves suspected corruption and money laundering by civil servants during the legal handling of PT ASABRI and Asuransi Jiwasraya between 2020 and 2025.

A second case targets similar misconduct during debt settlement processes. According to Victor Dean Mackbon, authorities are investigating illicit maneuvers by state actors concerning the financial obligations of PT CBS to PT KNI. The suspects behind these offenses have not yet been named by the police.

The sweeping crackdown stems from the highest office in the country. Based on statements from the police, the investigation into the PLN coal supply corruption that caused a massive blackout in Sumatra, along with the corporate graft at ASABRI and Krakatau Steel, remains a primary focus for President Prabowo Subianto.
