However, reports in March indicated that the Premier League club backed away after making an enquiry to Bayern Munich regarding a massive transfer fee. Instead, a move to the Spanish capital has now emerged as a far more realistic outcome for the winger.
According to prominent journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are "obsessed" with the Bayern Munich winger and are prepared to launch an aggressive bid for his signature. The Spanish giants have already made significant moves in the summer transfer window under manager Jose Mourinho, securing high-profile signings including Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, and Bernardo Silva.
The pressure remains high in Madrid. The club is coming off two consecutive seasons without a major trophy, and Mourinho has been brought back to the helm to restore their dominance. Based on recent transfer developments, the Portuguese manager has personally demanded the arrival of Olise as part of an ambitious double deal.
The proposed deal also includes Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni. The combined cost for both players is expected to reach approximately 300 million euros, equivalent to 255 million pounds. Olise reportedly believes that Real Madrid is the perfect club to continue his career progression.
Bayern Munich's official stance maintains that Olise is not for sale, but reports suggest the reality is more complicated. While the Bavarian club wants to extend his contract, they have simultaneously contacted potential replacements. Olise is expected to hold decisive talks with club leaders following the conclusion of the World Cup.
