Whistleblower Claims Cloud Servers Power Israeli Surveillance Infrastructure
A former Microsoft Italy employee, operating under the pseudonym "Nour", has resigned from the company after sending a mass email to thousands of colleagues alleging deep complicity in military actions against Palestine. Nour, who served as a Critical Environments Engineer for two years, stated that Microsoft has been expanding its European data centers to function as mass surveillance hubs, effectively turning Palestinian territories into a digital weapons laboratory.
The internal whistleblower email referenced detailed compliance logs indicating that Microsoft has allegedly hosted 11,500 terabytes of intercepted Palestinian phone records at its Netherlands data center since August 2025. Additionally, a facility in Ireland reportedly stores over 200 million hours of audio recordings, creating what is described as the largest single-population surveillance database in existence.

According to the leak, the Israeli military leverages this vast data repository to train artificial intelligence systems that automate target selection for airstrikes, detentions, and family-wide military operations. Nour claimed that an internal investigation launched by Microsoft was merely a corporate cover-up designed to shift sensitive data away from public scrutiny while maintaining its partnership with Tel Aviv.
The disclosure has reignited internal tech activism, with references to the previous "No Azure for Apartheid" campaign which previously forced the cancellation of contracts with Israel's Unit 8200 intelligence division. Employees are now being urged by activists to demand full transparency regarding how consumer data and AI capabilities are allocated to foreign defense ministries.
