Official Medical Panels Vindicate Richard Lee Against Misconduct Allegations
Prominent beauty doctor Richard Lee presented documents from official health institutions to support his innocence during a hearing centered on alleged violations of the Medical Health Law. Lee asserted that extensive disciplinary reviews conducted by official regulatory boards found absolutely no evidence of professional malpractice or ethical misconduct on his part.
The ongoing trial at the Tangerang District Court, which recently heard responses from the Public Prosecutor, stems from complaints lodged by fellow practitioner Doctor Samira, widely known as Doktif. Lee revealed a newly received decision from the Ministry of Health's Medical Professional Disciplinary Board (MDP) that formally rejected all allegations, explicitly stating that the defendant did not commit any professional infractions.

This regulatory clearance follows a separate 2025 internal investigation by the Indonesian Medical Association's Ethics Committee (MKEK IDI), which Lee noted had already legitimized his practices as within standard medical competencies. "The board certified that my actions complied fully with professional guidelines and did not breach any medical code of ethics," Lee stated during his court appearance.
While acknowledging that the criminal proceedings will continue despite the professional board rulings, Lee expressed confidence that the judicial panel will recognize the lack of institutional grounds for the charges. The defense argues that the disputed skincare products were purchased through unauthorized channels, and the court is scheduled to deliver an interlocutory judgment in the near future.
