Rock Musician Betrayed by Close Friend in High-Profile Investment Fraud

Tantri Syalindri, the prominent frontwoman of the Indonesian rock band Kotak, has broken her silence regarding a devastating investment scam allegedly perpetrated by a long-time friend. Speaking at a press conference in Cilandak, South Jakarta, the musician revealed that she and a close-knit group of mothers from her child's school fell victim to the multi-billion rupiah scheme.

The total financial loss from the fraudulent operation is estimated to hover around Rp10 billion, severely impacting multiple households within the singer's social circle. Tantri explained that the suspect leveraged her professional background as a high-performing sales executive and single mother to carefully construct a facade of financial credibility and manipulate the emotional vulnerabilities of her friends.

The deceptive scheme ran smoothly for months until the suspect completely vanished and deactivated her social media accounts following the final cash transfer over eight days ago. "The psychological manipulation was deep, and she targeted people who genuinely needed financial returns, including one of our friends who is currently battling cancer and hoped the investment would cover medical bills," Tantri recounted.

While Tantri and the other victims have yet to file an official criminal report, they are actively consulting legal counsel to finalize their next statutory steps against the missing suspect. The vocalist noted that the lost capital consisted of hard-earned entertainment industry savings intended for her retirement, given the lack of formal pension plans for independent musicians.
