Veterans Drive Infrastructure and Socio-Economic Progress in Ha Tinh
Under the scorching summer heat in Vinh An village, dozens of military veterans have been actively volunteering to clear land and transport building materials. Their collective efforts are dedicated to constructing a new house for Tran Thi Lieu, a near-poor resident who has faced prolonged housing insecurity. This initiative is part of a broader, sustained campaign by the Toan Luu Commune Veterans Association to support vulnerable families and foster local stability.
In the first half of 2026, the local association mobilized various organizations and donors to eliminate three temporary shelters for disadvantaged members. The veterans contributed over 90 days of voluntary labor to housing projects and distributed 89 gifts worth more than 35 million VND to families facing illness or financial hardship. Additionally, leadership delegations visited and honored senior revolutionaries, including 94-year-old French resistance veterans Tran Duc Hưng and Le Viet Xuan.

The organization has also directly catalyzed local development by contributing 1,860 workdays to rural modernization projects. Their efforts led to the construction of 525 meters of roads, the upgrading of 724 meters of irrigation canals, and the restoration of 3,650 square meters of neglected land. Furthermore, veterans managed 23 self-governing traffic routes, partnered with local police to maintain security, and delivered revolutionary education to over 2,350 students and youth members.
