Escalating Violence and Healthcare Disruption Across the Occupied West Bank
Medical professionals at the Arab Specialised Hospital confirmed the tragic passing of Ahmad Marouf Zeid on Sunday evening. According to Laila Ghannam, the governor of Ramallah and el-Bireh, the infant was in critical condition when Israeli soldiers deployed tear gas to halt Palestinians attempting to clear the checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Ammar village.
The incident coincided with further fatal violence in the region, where the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Israeli forces shot and killed a 16-year-old boy at the Qalandiya refugee camp near Ramallah. Two other 14-year-old boys sustained injuries during the same military operation on Sunday.

Ghannam heavily criticized the travel restrictions, stating that the blockade on the family's only son serves as 'a stain on the conscience of humanity' and reflects a deliberate policy to restrict freedom of movement. Casualties have mounted severely, with local health officials recording at least 1,087 Palestinian deaths in the West Bank since October 2023.
Simultaneously, an Israeli drone strike killed two people and wounded several others on Omar al-Mukhtar Street in Gaza City. Gaza's Health Ministry stated that ongoing military hostilities have led to 1,066 deaths since an October truce agreement, pushing the comprehensive death toll in Gaza to 73,090 individuals over the course of the conflict.
