Casualties Reported in Nabatieh as Ceasefire Violations Mount

Lebanon's official National News Agency reported that the targeted vehicle was traveling near Nabatieh al-Fawqa on Monday. The victims, who were returning from inspecting a family home, included a local school principal, her mother, a foreign domestic worker, and a Syrian national.

The Israeli military has maintained intermittent operations in southern Lebanon, asserting that its forces are solely targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and operatives. Both factions have repeatedly traded blame for violating the truce terms established under a United States and Iran brokered agreement that went into effect on June 21.

The broader confrontation intensified earlier this year when Hezbollah escalated its rocket campaigns against northern Israel following the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Official figures from Lebanese authorities indicate that the ensuing cross-border hostilities have claimed at least 4,300 lives.

United Nations data shows that over 640,000 displaced individuals have returned to their hometowns across Lebanon since June 22. This massive repatriation wave follows an initial internal displacement crisis that forced more than one million residents to flee their homes at the peak of the fighting.
