The incident began around 1:30 PM on July 6 when residents at the Trang An 2 apartment complex in Truong Vinh Ward noticed a dense column of black smoke rising from an adjacent scrap yard. Within minutes, the yard erupted into a fierce blaze, threatening the nearby residential buildings.

Thick, acrid smoke rapidly engulfed both the Trang An 1 and Trang An 2 apartment towers, creating panic among the residents. Fearing for their safety as the smoke blocked out visibility, hundreds of people fled the buildings into the streets.

The Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department of Nghe An Province responded to the emergency by deploying multiple fire trucks and dozens of personnel. Working alongside local residents, firefighters established a perimeter to prevent the flames from spreading to the residential complexes.

First responders successfully brought the blaze under control by 2:00 PM, preventing any immediate casualties, while local authorities launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the scrap yard fire.
