SPOKATS Sets Sights on Becoming the Pride of Indonesia's Footwear Sector

Celebrity entrepreneur Arie Untung is championing the quality of homegrown footwear, asserting that Indonesian-made sneakers easily rival their international counterparts. By introducing competitive local alternatives into upscale retail spaces, the initiative seeks to reshape consumer mindsets and establish a strong foothold against foreign market dominance.

The partnership has culminated in the grand opening of a new multibrand storefront at Pakuwon Mall Bekasi, collaborating directly with Triangga, the founder of SPOKATS by Grebe. Strategically positioned within a major modern shopping center, this retail destination is intentionally designed to elevate the visibility and accessibility of premium domestic brands.

Reflecting on the market landscape, Arie Untung highlighted the stark price disparities that often disadvantage consumers purchasing foreign labels. "Once you truly examine domestic products, you begin to see imports as overpriced and exaggerated, because we can achieve extraordinary craftsmanship right here at a fraction of the cost," he explained.

SPOKATS aims to pioneer a new era for local retail by positioning itself alongside famous international sneaker hubs. Triangga shared that the long-term vision is to establish the store as Indonesia's definitive footwear destination, drawing parallels to Japan's Atmos, America's Foot Locker, and the United Kingdom's JD Sports.
